Wales’ Gareth Bale 1/1 to score anytime against Belgium in Friday’s Euro 2016 quarter-finals

Posted June 30th, 2016 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Euro 2016
Market: Bale to score anytime
Odds: 1/1 @ William Hill

Wales’ in-form forward Gareth Bale will be looked to for inspiration when the Dragons lock horns with Belgium in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 on Friday. Wales are full of confidence given their form, but Belgium boast an enviable collection of talent capable of winning. As a result, Bale’s influence might be key.

The Real Madrid man has been in fantastic shape for Wales in the European Championships, scoring three goals in four games, and has taken the second-most amount of shots in a bid to get his side over the line. He’s been scoring from freekicks and open players, and has lived up to his billing so far after being tipped to shine in the Euros.

Bale has delivered a number of good performances for his country in this summer’s tournament, and will be called upon to be the difference to bridge the gap in quality between Wales and Belgium. Capable of scoring almost anywhere on the pitch, Belgium know they have to nullify Bale’s threat given how deadly he can be from distance.

But with the Rode Duivels’ defence exploitable due to their problems at fullback and their lack of defensive nous in the midfield, Gareth Bale is being backed by William Hill with odds of 1/1 to score anytime against Belgium, and one goal may well be enough to settle the encounter at the Grand Stade Lille Métropole.
