In a showdown between two Italian giants this weekend, Juventus will host defending champions Inter Milan on Sunday night.

Starting with the hosts, managing to make an immediate return to winning ways prior to March’s international break, Juventus were enjoying a largely eye-catching run of form domestically. In their 30 Serie A matchups so far this season, they have recorded 17 wins, eight draws and 26 defeats, scoring 47 and conceding 26 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 59, they open this weekend’s return to action sat fourth in the standings and holding a commanding eight-point buffer from dropping out of the Champions League places. As for their recent run of results, last seen picking up a 2-0 win against Salernitana on home soil, Juventus have won five of their previous six matchups across all formats. Likewise, it should be noted, Sunday’s hosts have seen 10 of their previous 12 fixtures finish with under 3.5 goals.

As for the visitors, once again having to settle for a single point when heading into the international break, Inter Milan had previously gained a reputation as a stalemate specialist. In their 29 Serie A matchups this season, they have recorded 17 wins, nine draws and three defeats, scoring 62 and conceding 24 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 60 and sat third in the table, it should be noted that the defending Italian champions hold the second-best defensive tally. However, as for their recent run of results, last seen playing out a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina on home soil, Inter have now had to settle for a single point in four of their last five Serie A matchups. Likewise, with Sunday’s guests seeing 11 of their previous 12 fixtures across all formats finish with under 3.5 goals, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
