Sporting Lisbon 2/5 to win against Nacional Madeira in tonight’s Portuguese Primeira Liga clash

Posted October 28th, 2016 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Portuguese Primeira Liga
Market: Sporting to win against Nacional
Odds: 2/5 @ William Hill

Sporting Lisbon travel to the Estádio da Madeira to face Nacional Madeira in the Portuguese Primeira Liga tonight, and are big favourites to pick up all three points to go without touching distance of leaders Benfica.

Hosts Nacional Madeira are currently 14th in the Portuguese Primeira Liga with a paltry seven points from a possible 24 this season, and have picked up just one point from their last two games. Nacional have the second-worst home record in the division too, suffering three defeats from four at the Estádio da Madeira, and are underdogs tonight as a result.

Visitors Sporting Lisbon find themselves third in the table with 17 points from eight games, boasting three wins and two draws from their last six. Sporting are unbeaten in their last three games and have suffered just one defeat all season. They could narrow the gap to leaders Benfica to two points with a win, and given Nacional’s woes at home, Sporting should deliver.

The two sides are separated by 11 positions and 10 points ahead of tonight’s clash, and with such a gulf in the table Sporting are being backed by William Hill with odds of 2/5 to see past Nacional.
