Newcastle 13/2 to finish in the bottom-half of the Premier League

Posted April 29th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Newcastle to finish bottom-half
Odds: 13/2 @ Bet 365

After losing their sixth consecutive Premier League game, Newcastle United are in big trouble of dropping out of the top-half of the table. The Magpies, currently in ninth, were fifth in the table at the end of November, but are now hanging on to a top-10 finish.

Alan Pardew’s men have Stoke City (10th) & Crystal Palace (11th) breathing down their neck to finish in the top-10, and should the aforementioned sides better Newcastle’s result in their next respective game, United will dip out of the top-half of the league table for the first time since October.

Such has been their woeful form in 2014, Bet 365 are giving odds of 13/2 for Newcastle to end the season in a bottom-half place. It would be a big disappointment for the Magpies, but they just cannot arrest their slide at present.

They’ve lost 13 of their last 18 league games, scoring just 10 goals. United have conceded 57 goals, which means they have the fourth worst defence in the Premier League as things stand.
