Manchester United 1/5 to finish outside of the top-four in the Premier League this season

Posted April 18th, 2016 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Man Utd not to finish top-four
Odds: 1/5 @ Coral

Manchester United have been ending the season in much better form, but they may have peaked too late to finish in a top-four spot to guarantee Champions League football for 2016/17. Louis van Gaal’s side are within touching distance of fourth-placed Arsenal, but they may have too much work to do in order to catch them in time.

Currently fifth in the Premier League table with 56 points from 33 games, United are only four points adrift of Arsenal with five games remaining, but it’s hard to see them making up enough ground to topple them. It’s certainly not impossible, but with only 15 points to play for, United would need a perfect finish to stand a chance.

They are in the best shape of the season to threaten topping Arsenal, however, boasting four wins from their last six games in the Premier League. Van Gaal’s side have relied on their outstanding home form to stay in contention, but Coral are giving odds of 1/5 for the Red Devils to miss out on a Champions League place come May.

While Arsenal have dropped points to allow United back into the equation, they still remain in the driving seat.
