Dinamo Tbilisi 4/5 to win against Alashkert in tonight’s Champions League qualifier

Posted July 12th, 2016 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Champions League
Market: Dinamo to win against Alashkert
Odds: 4/5 @ William Hill

Dinamo Tbilisi welcome Alashkert to the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena for the first leg of the second round of the Champions League qualifiers tonight, and are favourites to come out on top given home advantage as well as the gulf in class between the two sides.

Dinamo won the Georgian Umaglesi Liga last season to book their place in the Champions League qualifiers, and boast experience in this situation given how many times they’ve been in the preliminaries. Dinamo have twice made the Europa League playoffs, and the inexperience of their opponents could see a home win today.

Armenian side Alashkert won the Armenian Premier League title last season to reach the Champions League qualifiers, but have only played six qualifying games in Europe (4 in Europa League) in their entire history. As a result, they could come unstuck to a much-fancied Tbilisi outfit at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena

Dinamo have played over 140 games in European competition in their history, and won 14 of 15 home games in the league last season. Alashkert have done well to reach the second round, but William Hill are giving odds of 4/5 for Dinamo to come out on top.
