Cork City 4/9 to win against Shamrock Rovers in Friday’s Irish Airtricity League clash

Posted May 25th, 2017 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Irish Airtricity League
Market: Cork to win against Shamrock
Odds: 4/9 @ William Hill

Cork City welcome Shamrock Rovers to Turners Cross in the Irish Airtricity League on Friday evening, and are big favourites to come out on top to potentially extend their lead at the top. Cork City have been near invincible so far this season and a Shamrock side who can’t stop losing on the road aren’t likely to contain them.

John Caulfield’s Cork City side are currently top of the Irish Airtricity League table with 43 points from a possible 45, boasting five wins from their last six games. Cork have a 100% home record form their seven games at Turners Cross, scoring 23 goals and conceding only three, and should make light work of Shamrock this week as a result.

As for the visitors, Stephen Bradley’s Shamrock Rovers side find themselves fifth in the division with 22 points from 15 games, having won three of their last four outings. However, Shamrock’s away form is a real worry, suffering four defeats from their last five games on the road, and consequently William Hill are giving odds of 4/9 for Cork City to win against Shamrock Rovers on Friday.
