Chelsea 4/9 to beat Everton in Wednesday’s EFL Cup showdown
Competition: EFL Cup

Odds: 4/9 @ Bet365
With the furore of the Premier League seemingly all-encompassing, it is easy to forget that there are a number of other competitions going on in England, with the EFL Cup returns this Tuesday and Wednesday. Perhaps the most intriguing of all the fixtures will be Everton’s trip to Chelsea, with both sides looking to book their place in the next round of the cup.
Chelsea battled past a spirited Watford side on the weekend as they finally arrested their recent slump in form. Indeed, three games without a win and a damaging loss to Crystal Palace had threatened to derail their campaign at this early stage, but their entertaining 4-2 win over Watford will have resurrected some of their previously failing confidence. The EFL Cup will provide some welcome respite from the league then, with Antonio Conte clearly looking to win as much as possible.
For Everton, this game could not be coming at a worse time. Ronald Koeman was sacked as the manager on Monday following a 5-2 hammering at the hands of Arsenal. The game against the Gunners proved to be his last game as the Toffees slipped into the relegation zone. With no word yet on a successor, Everton will likely be without a manager for their trip to Stamford Bridge, although Leicester went to Swansea and won following the sacking of Craig Shakespeare, which means they will likely be channelling their inner-Foxes this week. With Chelsea back to winning ways and Everton in awful form though, Bet365 have given the hosts odds of 4/9 to beat the Toffees.
