Chelsea 10/11 to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals

Posted April 2nd, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Champions League
Market: Chelsea to qualify for next round
Odds: 10/11 @ Coral

With the Premier League title slipping out of their hands, Chelsea will view the Champions League as one last reprieve. Manager Jose Mourinho has long spoken about his obsession to win the prestigious European competition, while owner Roman Abramovic reciprocates such feelings.

Tonight, they face Paris Saint-Germain in France which is a difficult task considering the Parisians haven’t lost at home in Ligue One or in Europe this season. PSG have conceded just five goals at home in the league, and will look to take advantage of Chelsea’s recent miserable away form.

Nevertheless, Chelsea have always been a strong outfit in the Champions League, and this season they have remained as competitive as ever. Coral are giving the Blues odds of 10/11 to qualify for the semi-finals for what would be the second time in three seasons should they achieve it.

But after two defeats on their travels in the league, and some questionable away performances in Europe, Jose Mourinho faces a task to get a result tonight – let alone qualifying over two legs. But can he pull it off?
