In what could prove to be a lively contest on Tuesday night, Swansea will host fellow play-off hopefuls Stoke from behind closed doors in midweek.

Starting with the hosts, while Swansea might still find themselves battling it out in the play-off positions, the Whites are in the midst of a worrying run of form since returning from the international break. In their opening seven Championship contests this season, they have recorded three wins, three draws and just a single defeat, scoring eight and conceding five in return. Collecting a points tally of 12, the Whites open the midweek fixtures sat in sixth and with their goal difference keeping them in that final play-off spot. As for their recent run of results, however, Tuesday’s hosts have failed to win any of their last three Championship contests on the bounce, including back-to-back 1-1 draws. It is also worth noting, each of Swansea’s last four second-tier appearances on the spin have seen both teams find the net.

As for the visitors, continuing on what has been a free-scoring run of form, the mood in Stoke’s camp should be at a real high. In their opening seven Championship contests this year, they have also recorded three wins, three draws and just a single defeat, scoring nine and conceding seven in return. Also mustering up a points tally of 12 and just their goal difference keeping them behind Tuesday’s hosts, it should be noted that victory for Stoke in midweek could see them break into the automatic spots. As for their recent run of results, collecting a 3-2 win at home against Brentford over the weekend, the guests find themselves in the midst of a seven-match unbeaten run across all formats, winning five of those appearances. While Stoke might have managed to record just a single clean sheet in their last four Championship outings, they have now recorded over 1.5 goals in their last three outings on the spin.
