Competition: Championship

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 1/1 @ 888sport

In a showdown between two sides enduring a recent blip, Huddersfield will host Millwall from behind closed doors on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, only continuing on what has been a hugely worrying run of form, Huddersfield have found themselves freefalling down the Championship table. In their 24 second-tier matchups so far this year, they have recorded nine wins, four draws and 11 defeats, scoring 28 and conceding 34 in return. Opening the midweek fixtures sat 14th in the table and just two points adrift of breaking into the top-half of the standings, it should be noted that Huddersfield hold the second-worst defensive record in the division. As for their recent run of results, Wednesday’s hosts have lost each of their last three straight matchups across all formats and they have mustered just three points from their last four Championship appearances. However, it should be highlighted that four of Huddersfield’s last five contests have finished with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, also struggling to find any real stability, Millwall have seen their play-off ambitions take a real dent and they are a side desperately seeking a boost. In their 23 Championship matchups so far this season, they have recorded five wins, 11 draws and seven defeats, scoring 20 and conceding 24 in return. Managing to muster a points tally of 26 and opening the midweek fixtures sat 16th in the table, they’re also five points adrift of Wednesday’s hosts. As for their recent run of results, last seen getting hit with a 3-1 defeat away at Nottingham Forest, Millwall have failed to win any of their last four Championship contests. More worrying, the Lions have landed just a single second-tier win since the end of October. However, with each of their last four matchups also seeing both teams find the net, we’re backing a similar outcome in midweek.
