Aston Villa 8/13 to stay up in the Premier League following Paul Lambert sacking

Posted February 12th, 2015 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Aston Villa to stay up
Odds: 8/13 @ Coral

Aston Villa recently sacked manager Paul Lambert following a poor run of form that saw the Midlands club drop into the relegation zone. A lack of goals has plagued them all through the campaign, and ultimately it was the man in charge who got the bullet as a result.

But now Villa have 13 games to go in the Premier League to ensure their survival, and many believe the change in manager could well see some resurgence under a different atmosphere. Lambert’s last game in charge was a 2-0 defeat to Hull City, which saw the Claret and Blues fail to come close to scoring. It’s been synonymous of their entire season, and something had to change.

It’s unknown who will come in, but owner Randy Lerner is likely to bring in a more attacking name to better the fortunes of the struggling outfit. As a result, Coral are giving odds of 8/13 for Aston Villa to fend of relegation, with a more attacking approach under a new manager likely to see the club finally get their confidence back.
