APOEL Nicosia 2/9 to win first leg of Tuesday’s Champions League qualifier against Vardar Skopje

Posted July 13th, 2015 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Champions League
Market: APOEL Nicosia to win against Vardar Skopje
Odds: 2/9 @ 888 Sport

APOEL of Cyprus lock horns with Macedonian side Vardar Skropje in the second leg of the Champions League qualifiers, and are big favourites to come away with a win. They are a side that have been in the European competition before, and certainly have more of an affinity with the Champions League than that of their opposition.

The little-known Vardar aren’t expecting to do much in the qualifiers, and are considerably inferior to APOEL. They don’t have a history in the competition like their opponents, and have no real objectives in the early rounds. Their track record is poor, and 888 Sport are backing APOEL with odds of 2/9 to dispatch of their Macedonian counterparts as a result.

The favourites have experience of making it all the way through the qualifiers before, and found themselves locking horns with European giants in the past in the group stages of the Champions League. They’re expected to repeat the feat by winning on Tuesday night, while minnows Vardar stand little chance of an upset.
