Will Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer be the next to lose his job?

Posted February 24th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Solskjaer next manager to leave post
Odds: 10/3 @ Betfair

Following Cardiff City’s recent biggest defeat of the season to fellow newly-promoted compatriots Hull City, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finds his position greatly under threat. Betfair are giving out odds of 10/3 for the Norwegian to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job, and with Cardiff having taken four points from Solskjaer’s seven games in charge, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if he was to be relieved of his duties next.

The Bluebirds are in 19th place, three points adrift of safety. With Solskjaer having brought in six players in the January transfer window, he’ll have been expected to ensure Premier League safety – potentially with his job depending on it.

A look to their remaining fixture list gives little hope to the Wales-based club, with six top-half opponents still to play in their last 11 games.

Considering Cardiff have won just five league games all season, with one win in their previous 11 matches, their situation looks precarious – and even more so under the former Molde boss. Let alone the side actually surviving in the top flight, will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer survive the axe?
