Are West Brom in serious danger of relegation?
Competition: Premier League
Market: West Brom to get relegated
Odds: 11/4 @ William Hill
With Premier League strugglers West Bromwich Albion currently just one point above the drop zone with 11 games remaining – and the side not having won in their last seven games – the panic bells will certainly be ringing.
Pepe Mel was appointed following a long-winded managerial search after Steve Clarke was sacked earlier into the season, but the change hasn’t bettered the Baggies’ predicament.
The Midlands outfit have won just one game in their previous 18 matches, and are now being tipped for the drop. William Hill are giving good odds of 11/4 for West Brom to go down.
Their next three league games give them little hope of arresting the slide – Manchester United (home), Swansea City (away), Hull City (away).
While defeats hasn’t been the biggest issue this season, it’s the amount of draws the club have amassed that remains the problem. Out of 27 matches, West Brom have drawn 13 of them – the most in the division. They’ve actually lost the least amount of games in the bottom half of the table, but have also won the least amount too.
They’ll be destined for the drop if they can’t turn these draws into wins soon, as Sunderland have a game in hand against them which could see Baggies swapping places with the Blacks Cats in 18th.
Can they stop the rot?
