West Brom manager Pepe Mel 7/2 to be next manager to leave post

Competition: Premier League
Market: Pepe Mel next manager to leave post
Odds: 7/2 @ Betfair

Following West Brom’s 3-0 home defeat against Manchester United, manager Pepe Mel faces the sack talk once more, less than two months after he was appointed by the club’s chairman Jeremy Peace. Reports had suggested Dave Jones could be replacing Mel for the remaining 10 games of the season, but no movement has been made.

Nevertheless, Betfair are giving odds of 7/2 for Mel to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post after a miserable spell since his arrival to the Hawthorns. With no wins under his belt in the eight games he’s been in charge, his position is looking more and more precarious.

West Brom currently find themselves heavily embroiled in a relegation battle this season, and are only above the relegation zone on goal difference. The Midlands outfit have 25 points from 28 games this campaign, but have won just one game in their last 18.

Despite the club having taken so long to appoint Mel into the role, they won’t be afraid to remove him if they feel their Premier League status is under serious threat. Will Mel be the next manager to leave?
