With various sources suggesting Qatar could be stripped of their hosting rights for the 2022 World Cup, USA are being given odds of 15/8 by Ladbrokes to host the tournament at their expense.

FIFA are reviewing the voting process amid allegations of corruption in how Qatar received hosting privileges, and the climate is considered too hot for a summer tournament. While a winter break to have the World Cup was proposed, it appears FIFA could scrap Qatar hosting the tournament altogether, and could instead give it to the USA, who were high up in the vote at the time.

A committee member of FIFA has publicly revealed Qatar won’t host the 2022 World Cup, but it’s a claim refuted by senior members of the governing body. There certainly won’t be a resolution any time soon on the matter, as the tournament is still eight years away, but USA certainly have the resources to stage a World Cup.

USA have hosted the tournament. A decade ago, the 1994 World Cup was played in America, and was won by five-time winners Brazil.
