In a contest that could see chances come at a real premium this weekend, West Brom vs Crystal Palace will take place on Sunday lunchtime at the Hawthorns.

Starting with the hosts, managing to pick up what was a much-needed victory in a real relegation six-pointer last weekend, West Brom will know that they must kick on. In their opening 10 Premier League matchups this season, they have recorded just a single win, three draws and six defeats, scoring seven and conceding 18 in return. Along with managing to collect just a points tally of six and opening this weekend’s fixtures sat one point adrift in the drop zone, it should also be noted that West Brom hold the third-worst attacking record in the division as we entered December. As for their recent run of results, while the Baggies did land that scrappy 1-0 win against Sheffield United last time out, they have shown some glaring extended issues in the final third. It should be noted, each of West Brom’s last seven Premier League contests on the bounce have seen under 2.5 goals by the final whistle.

As for the visitors, also in the midst of showing their own worrying issues in the final third, Crystal Palace have really failed to match a similar level they set when opening the 2020/2021 campaign. In their opening 10 Premier League matchups so far this season, they have recorded four wins, one draw and five defeats, scoring 12 and conceding 15 in return. Managing to collect a points tally of 13, the Eagles open this weekend’s fixtures sat 15th in the table and really needing a bounce. As for their recent run of results, including back-to-back Premier League defeats, Palace have managed to pick up just three points from their last four top-flight contests. Drawing a blank in each of those three defeats and with three of their last four matchups seeing under 2.5 goals by the final whistle, we’re backing a similar outcome on Sunday lunchtime.
