Turkey 8/5 to beat Romania in Thursday’s international friendly

The international break returns this week with a number of interesting games on the way. While many bemoan the time away from club football, these games constitute the perfect chance for managers to utilise their players in more experimental ways and formations in preparation for the World Cup next summer. However, neither Romania nor Turkey managed to make it out of their groups, and the two face each other in a friendly on Thursday.
Romania had a fairly good chance of making it out of their group this year, with a number of sides battling near the top of their group. Poland took 25 points from their 10 games and always looked favourites to go through, while Romania lost out to Denmark for a second-place spot by seven points in the end. 12 goals scored and 10 conceded is hardly the most intimidating of records, but Romania will be desperate to show their fans that they have a lot to look forward to in their next campaign by beating Turkey on Thursday evening.
It was an incredibly disappointing campaign for Turkey as they missed out on qualification for the World Cup by some margin. Iceland collected seven more points than Turkey’s 15, while second-placed Croatia cruised into a play-off with a five-point lead over the Turkish. In a group where there was no real superpower, Turkey should have made more of their chance to progress, but they failed. While Turkey are away from home on Thursday, we are backing them to win at odds of 8/5 with Bet365.
