Sporting Kansas City 4/5 to win against New York Red Bulls in Thursday’s MLS clash

Posted May 3rd, 2017 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: MLS
Market: Sporting KC to win against NY Red Bulls
Odds: 4/5 @ William Hill

Sporting Kansas City welcome New York Red Bulls at Sporting Park in the MLS on Thursday, and are big favourites to come out on top given New York’s poor away record this season compared to the formidable home form of City. Victory for either side would put them top of their respective division and recent results may see this week’s clash go the way of the hosts.

Peter Vermes’ Sporting Kansas City side are currently second in the Western Conference with 15 points from eight games this season, coming off the back of three wins from four ahead of Thursday’s meeting. City, unbeaten at home with only two goals conceded, have won three and drawn one at Sporting Park and will fancy their chances against a New York side who can’t but a win on the road.

As for the visitors, Jesse Marsch’s New York Red Bulls side find themselves second in the Eastern Conference with 16 points from nine games, having won three on the bounce. However, New York have lost their last three away games in the league ahead of their trip to face Sporting, and William Hill are giving odds of 4/5 for City to see past the Red Bulls as a result.
