AS Roma 7/2 to win the 2014/15 Serie title

Following the arrival of former Chelsea and Arsenal defender Ashley Cole, AS Roma mean business this season. The England international turned down offers from big clubs to join last season’s runners-up, but Roma will greatly fancy their chances with an influence such as Cole in the side next season.

In 2013/14, they finished 17 points behind champions Juventus, but had a respectable 85 points – which would have seen them win the league crown four times in the last six years. They also amassed a staggering 21 clean sheets, and have left- Ashley Cole to add to their already strong defence.

As a result, Betfair are backing Roma with odds of 7/2 to win the league title next season. They have talented individuals such as Gervinho, Francesco Totti, Miralem Pjanic and Kevin Strootman, all of whom will be fired up to help the side go one better in the league.

Manager Rudi Garcia is hoping to lead the side to their first title since 2000/01, where they’ve since been runners-up on seven occasions.
