AS Roma 5/2 to win the Serie A title with holders Juventus undergoing big changes

Posted July 28th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Serie A
Market: AS Roma to win the title
Odds: 5/2 @ Coral

With Serie A holders Juventus having a change in manager and potentially losing two of their influential midfielders, last season’s runners up AS Roma are being tipped to win the 2014/15 crown. The Italian giants have brought in former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole, and have a strong squad to challenge the Old Lady.

Juve are potentially losing midfielders Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal this summer, and former manager Antonio Conte surprisingly resigned from his post, citing that the club have issues that could harm their title chances this season. The Serie A side have won three titles in a row, but 2013/14 could be where it ends for now.

As a result, Coral are backing Roma with odds of 5/2 to win the league, with them last season finishing second in the table, amassing 85 points and boasting the second-best defensive record in the league. Managed by Rudi Garcia, Roma aren’t settling for anything less than the title this season now they know Juve could well be vulnerable.
