Republic of Ireland and Sweden 11/5 to draw tonight’s Euro 2016 clash
Competition: Euro 2016
Market: Republic of Ireland and Sweden to draw
Odds: 11/5 @ Ladbrokes
Republic of Ireland lock horns with Sweden at the Stade de France in their opening Euro 2016 Group E clash tonight, but could struggle given how strong their opposition are. Ireland aren’t the same force they used to be, and their form has dipped at a bad time.
Having failed to win their last three games, Ireland aren’t in the best shape. They were held to two draws against Slovakia and the Netherlands, while suffering a defeat against Belarus. Their poor form comes at the worst possible time, and their opponents Sweden will be full of confidence as a result.
Sweden have drawn against the Czech Republic and Slovenia, while recently beating Wales, and will fancy their chances of dispatching of another side close to the home nations in the UK. With Belgium and Italy to contend with in the group, both sides will be desperate to pick up a win, but the formbook suggests a stalemate might be on the cards.
Ireland and Sweden have drawn six of their last 12 games collectively, and as a result, Ladbrokes are giving odds of 11/5 for the two nations to play out a stalemate at the Stade de France tonight.
