Recently sacked Billy McKinlay 14/5 to be appointed next Fulham manager
Market: Billy McKinlay to be named next Fulham manager
Odds: 14/5 @ Betfair
With reports suggesting Watford manager Billy McKinlay has been sacked after just eight days in the role, the 45-year-old is now being tipped to be the next head coach of Fulham.
McKinlay has only been in two roles in coaching, being the assistant manager of Northern Ireland (2012-2014) and Watford. So he’s largely an inexperienced head coach to appoint for a club so perilously in the Championship.
Fulham are 22nd in the table, with eight defeats from their 11 games. They have the worst defence in the league (22). Their poor form led to former manager Felix Magath getting the sack, but his successor Kit Symons enjoyed an upturn in form after taking over.
The Londoners won their first two games of the season under Symons, but club owner Shahid Kahn doesn’t appear keen on appointing him despite the improvement on the pitch. He’s arranged a panel of five members to scout out a new manager and the Scot appears to be ahead of the likes of Gianfranco Zola, Chris Hughton, Micky Adams and Alan Curbishley.
Betfair are giving odds of 14/5 for Billy McKinlay to be named the next Fulham manager.
