Looking to shore up their playoff position in the Western Conference, Real Salt Lake will be hoping to carry on their impressive run of form when they welcome LA Galaxy to the Rio Tinto Stadium in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Starting with the hosts, although it was a rough start to the new season, Real Salt Lake have done an eye-catching job of turning their form around. After 27 games in the MLS, the hosts have won 12, drawn five and lost 10, scoring 42 and conceding 44 in return. With a points tally of 41, Salt Lake currently sit fourth in the Western Conference and hold just a three-point buffer from slipping out of the Top Six. As for their run of form, the hosts have now only lost on of their last five in the MLS and have won their last two on the bounce. While they have scored 11 in their last five, Salt Lake have only managed to record on a clean sheet on that run.

As for the visitors, although LA Galaxy may have enjoyed a midseason climb up the table, The Whites have slumped back to their old ways. After 27 MLS games this season, LA have won 10, drawn eight and lost nine, scoring 49 and conceding 48 in return, they now hold teh third worst defensive record in the division. With a points tally of 38, LA have now slipped out of the Top Six after a poor run of form. LA are now without a win in their last five on the bounce and have lost their last two matches away from the StubHub Center. While they have now found the net in four of their last five outings, LA have shipped 11 in their last five.
