Real Madrid’s in-form Gareth Bale 13/2 to score first against Dortmund

Posted April 8th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Champions League
Market: Gareth Bale to score first
Odds: 13/2 @ William Hill

Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has been passed fit to play in tonight’s Champions League quarter-final second leg match against last season’s finalists Borussia Dortmund, and with his impressive recent form he’s also tipped to bag the first goal.

There’s a doubt about Cristiano Ronaldo’s fitness coming into the game, but Bale has shrugged off a knock he picked up to be in the squad for their important match.

The Welsh international, 24, has been in fine scoring form in both Europe and in the Spanish La Liga. In the Champions League this season, the ex-Tottenham man has scored three goals from his last three, while netting three goals from two in the league.

As a result, William Hill are giving him odds of 13/2 to score first against Borussia Dortmund tonight, to set Real Madrid on their way for the Champions League semi-finals. With 18 goals and 15 assists (La Liga & Europe) in his debut campaign with Los Blancos, few would bet against him tonight.
