Real Madrid 4/9 to beat Tottenham in Tuesday’s Champions League showdown

Competition: Champions League

Market: Real Madrid to beat Tottenham

Odds: 4/9 @ Bet365

The Champions League is back this week and one of the games of the match-week sees Tottenham Hotspur travel to face reigning double Champions League winners Real Madrid in what is a mouthwatering fixture. It will likely see goals and excitement, with two of Europe’s best sides going head-to-head.

The hosts currently sit top of Group H with six points from their two games, meaning they have been in perfect form, which is quite different from their La Liga campaign, which has been difficult at times for Madrid. Wins over Apoel Nicosia and Borussia Dortmund mean that they have a six-point lead over third place, meaning that a win tonight would see them with one foot in the next round.

For Tottenham, this is a chance to prove just how far they have come. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have been in fine form in the Premier League over the last few years, but they had struggled in the Champions League last season. This campaign though, they are two wins from two and actually have an identical record to their next opponents. A big performance against the Spanish side would see morale skyrocket, and any kind of points would set them up perfectly for the home fixture against Madrid. Even though Tottenham will make a real game of it, Real Madrid are very good at home, so Bet365 are giving the Spanish side odds of 2/5 to beat Tottenham.
