Portugal and Italy 10/3 to draw in Monday’s Nations League showdown
Competition: UEFA Nations League
Odds: 10/3 @ Bet 365
Two sides that are coming off the back of draws in their inaugural matches in this years UEFA Nations League, 2016 European Champions Portugal will welcome Italy to the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica on Monday.
Starting with the hosts, while they couldn’t live up to their historic outing in Paris back in 2016, Portugal did manage to secure a spot in the knockout stages. As for their recent form, The Reds played out a 1-1 draw with Croatia last week in their Nations League opener and they have now only managed to win one of their last five matches in all competitions. Now drawing five of their last eight matches, Portugal could once again struggle in the absence of captain and leading goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo. Picking up just two wins in their last nine matches across all competitions, backing a draw at 10/3 seems like the smartest bet here.
As for the visitors, after missing out on the World Cup finals courtesy of a 1-0 aggregate loss to Sweden, the 2006 world champions are a nation desperately looking to rebuild. Like their hosts, The Blues are also coming off the back of a 1-1 draw against Poland in their opening Nations League matchup and Italy have now managed to record just one win in their last seven matches. Now drawing three of their last five, it will also be their recent defensive issues that are concerning former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini. Italy have now failed to record a clean sheet in any of their matches in 2018.
