Looking to gain some much-needed momentum before heading to Russia later this week, Poland will face off against Lithuania in their final international friendly match before the World Cup kicks off.
For the hosts on Tuesday, after topping their World Cup qualifying group and only losing one match in their 10 outings, Poland will travel to Russia later this month sharing a group with Senegal, Japan and Columbia, The Reds will fancy their chances of securing a spot in the knockout stages. However, while Poland have only managed to win one of their last five matches, the hosts have recently refound their finishing touches. Scoring 28 goals in qualifying and topping the goal scoring charts, Poland have now scored five in their last two and will be looking for forward Robert Lewandowski to carry on his own recent success.
As for the visitors, Lithuania once again endured a very difficult time in qualifying and were only able to pick up a single win in their 10 matches in Group F. Finishing with just six points and second bottom of the group, Lithuania also held the second-worst defensive record during qualifying and conceded a minimum of two goals per game on average. Sadly for Lithuania, their poor form has continued and the visitors have now only won one of their last 13 in all competitions. Even more worrying, in eight of their last 11 defeats they have conceded at least two goals.
