Looking to carry on their impressive recent run of form, Philadelphia Union will welcome Montreal to the Talen Energy Stadium in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Starting with the hosts, although their consistency might have been Philadelphia’s biggest problem this year, The Union have battled back well and are currently enjoying a terrific run of form. After 27 MLS games this season, Philadelphia have won 12, drawn four and lost 11, scoring 39 and conceding 41 in return. With a points tally of 40, Union currently sit fifth in the table and a win on Sunday could see them leapfrog Columbus in the Eastern Conference. As for their recent form, the hosts are currently enjoying a six-match unbeaten run, winning five of those outings. Although they have shipped four in their last five, Philadelphia have now scored two or more goals in seven of their last nine.

As for the visitors, although Montreal did show some improvements during June and July, The Rapids have once again shown signs of their inconsistency. After 28 MLS games, the visitors have won 11, drawn three and lost 14, scoring 37 and conceding 45 in return, they now hold the third worst defensive record in the Eastern Conference. Now three points adrift of their hosts, while they have only lost one of their last, winning two and drawing one, The Impact have failed to win any of their last five matches on the road.
