PAOK 29/10 to beat Basel in Wednesdays Champions League qualifier
Competition: Champions League qualifier
Market: PAOK win
Odds: 29/10 @ Bet 365
Swiss giants FC Basel haven’t enjoyed a great start to their season, and things could get worse when they face PAOK in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday. The Greek side registered a surprising 2-1 win over Basel in the first leg.
Starting with the hosts, although they might be the most recognizable team in the Swiss Super League and that they secured a second place finish last season, Basel have been completely short of form entering the new season. Failing to win any of their two opening matchups in their domestic league, The Reds also lost their last five pre-season matches on the bounce and more worrying for the hosts, they have now conceded 16 in their last six and 11 in their last three matches at St. Jakob-Park.
As for the visitors, after putting in yet another impressive performance in front of their home crowd last week, PAOK have their fate in their own hands following on from their 2-1. After 30 games in the Greek Super League, the visitors won 21, drew four and lost five, scoring 59 and conceding 19 in return, along with finishing with the best-attacking stats in the division, they also picked up a piece of silverware. Now with just one loss in any competition since March, PAOK have now won 11 of their 14 in all competitions and we’re backing them to see of a Basel side low on confidence.
