In a matchup that could see a string of chances at both ends of the pitch on Saturday lunchtime, Everton will host Manchester United from behind closed doors.

Starting with the hosts, despite their bright start to the 2020/2021 campaign, Everton are a team seeking a real bounce after what has been an extended blip. In their opening seven Premier League contests so far this year, they have recorded four wins, one draw and two defeats, scoring 15 and conceding 11 in return. Managing to collect a points tally of 13 out of a possible 21, the Blues open this weekend’s fixtures sat fourth in the table and holding that final Champions League spot thanks to their goal difference. However, as for their recent run of results, Everton have managed to collect just a single point from their three Premier League matchups since returning from October’s international break. It should also be noted, along with conceding over 1.5 goals in their last four straight top-flight contests, eight of Everton’s last nine contests across all formats have seen over 2.5 goals by the final whistle.

As for the visitors, slumping back to losing ways in worrying fashion on European duties earlier in the weekend, Manchester United have really failed to make any kind of impact so far this season. In their opening six Premier League contests so far this year, they have recorded a pair of wins, one draw and three defeats, scoring nine and conceding 13 in return. Managing to muster just a points tally of seven out of a possible 21, the Reds open this weekend’s fixtures sat way down in 15th and already four points adrift of even breaking into the top-half of the table. As for their recent run of results, Manchester United were hit with a shock 2-1 defeat against Turkish outfit Istanbul Basaksehir last time out, they have won just one of their last four matchups across all formats. It should also be highlighted, all of United’s away fixtures so far this season have seen over 2.5 goals.
