Olympiakos 2/5 to knock out Manchester United from the Champions League
Competition: Champions League
Market: Olympiakos to qualify
Odds: 2/5 @ Coral
After losing 2-0 in the first leg, Manchester United face a difficult task in overcoming a strong Olympiakos side by three clear goals to avoid Champions League elimination. However, with how poor United have been of late, Olympiakos are expected to ensure the wait for a quarter-final place stretches to a third season for David Moyes’ men.
United last went further in the tournament in 2011, when the side lost in the final to Barcelona under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Since then, they have been underachieving heavily in the tournament, and this season looks to be no different.
Olympiakos were under-estimated in the first leg meeting last month, but proved their European credentials by outplaying the Premier League holders and taking a 2-0 aggregate lead into the away leg at Old Trafford. However, they won’t be overawed by the occasion, as facing Manchester United at home has proven to be more difficult for the Red Devils to come away with a win, than their opponents.
Coral are giving odds of 2/5 for Olympiakos to qualify for the next round at the expense of Manchester United, to further add misery to an already hurting squad, and potentially putting the pressure on David Moyes.
