Norwich 1/8 to stay up following Sunderland victory

Posted March 23rd, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Norwich to stay in the Premier League
Odds: 1/8 @ Coral

After their 2-0 win at home to fellow relegation rivals Sunderland, Norwich City are now seven points clear of the drop with seven games to play. As a result, Coral are giving the Canaries odds of 1/8 to stay up.

Chris Hughton’s men have endured a difficult season in their fight for survival, but took a massive step to confirming their Premier League status for another season with their home win against the Black Cats.

Their form at Carrow Road has been their saving grace, with 12 points amassed from their last 18. City have conceded just one goal from six at home, and Fulham are the only bottom-half visiting side to have taken three points against them.

With Swansea City (away) and West Bromwich Albion (home) their next two matches, Norwich will certainly fancy their chances to get three points from one of the matches to come. Should they achieve it, their survival will be all but confirmed.

Chris Hughton has been surrounded with rumours about his impending exit, but he remains manager of the Norwich, and should they stay up in a comfortable fashion come May, he may well have saved his neck for another season.
