Northern Ireland’s Michael O’Neill 1/1 to be Celtic’s next permanent manager
Competition: Scottish Premier League
Market: O’Neill to be next Celtic manager
Odds: 1/1 @ Betfair
Scottish Premier League giants Celtic are reportedly looking to replace unpopular manager Ronny Deila at the end of this season. The club hierarchy are allegedly eyeing up Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill to be his potential replacement.
The 46-year-old recently led his country to the 2016 European Championships, and is said to have been on the Celtic radar for some time. Deila is currently on course to lead Celtic to another Premier League title, but they have been far from convincing.
Supporters are growing out of love for the 40-year-old as the Bhoys have been pegged back in the title race, rather than running away with league honours. And with a number of players set to leave the club, the manager could well be following.
Michael O’Neill has been sounded out as the ideal replacement, with the NI boss having won domestic titles prior to his move on the international stage. Deila is expected to part company in the summer, and Betfair are giving odds of 1/1 for O’Neill to be the man coming in for him ahead of the 2016/17 season.
