Newcastle’s Steve McClaren 1/6 next Premier League manager to exit his post

Competition: Premier League
Market: McClaren next manager to exit his post
Odds: 1/6 @ 888 Sport

Newcastle United suffered a 3-1 home defeat to Bournemouth on the weekend, which made their hopes of Premier League survival incredibly slim. The Magpies remain stuck in the relegation zone, and head coach Steve McClaren could be facing the axe as a result.

19th in the Premier League with 24 points from 28 games this season, United just can’t get any momentum at a key period of the campaign. The North-East side are coming off the back of five defeats from six games, but they are only one point from safety.

Newcastle have their destiny in their own hands, but racking up just six wins from 28 isn’t good enough. Their away form has been the biggest problem, with McClaren’s men having suffered six straight defeats on their travels, and the head coach is walking on thin ice according to various reports.

Aston Villa’s Remi Garde, Crystal Palace’s Alan Pardew and Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal are three managers all currently under pressure, but 888 Sport are giving odds of 1/6 for Steve McClaren to be the next Premier League boss given the boot.
