Newcastle 17/10 to arrest their slide with much-needed win against Swansea
Competition: Premier League
Market: Newcastle to win against Swansea
Odds: 17/10 @ William Hill
Newcastle have a huge opportunity to finally get themselves back on track in 2014 and alleviate some pressure off manager Alan Pardew’s shoulders this weekend. The Magpies, coming off the back of four straight league defeats, face a Swansea side with just one win from their last nine.
Garry Monk’s side haven’t won on their travels since beating Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage in November last year. Newcastle have been appalling in 2014. The North-East outfit have lost 10 of their 15 games this year, while failing to score in 12 of their previous 16.
But their home form has been their saving grace. Pardew’s men have won two of their last three at St James’ Park, and are being backed by William Hill to get all three points this weekend – with odds of 17/10.
Swansea still need to win, however. The Welsh club remain dangerously close to the drop zone, with just three points separating them from relegation. They did beat Newcastle 3-0 when the side’s met in December though.
