Two sides looking to book their spot in the fifth round of this year’s US Open Cup, New York Red Bulls will host fellow MLS outfit New England in the early hours of Wednesday.

Starting with the hosts, really starting to put in a string of impressive showings at the Red Bull Arena, New York are looking to mount a US Open Cup charge this season. In their 16 MLS matchups this year, they have recorded seven wins, three draws and six defeats, scoring 27 and conceding 19 in return. Holding the second best-attacking record in the Eastern Conference, they also hold a seven-point buffer from slipping out of the play-off positions. As for their recent run of results, New York have lost just one of their last six MLS appearances. It is also worth noting that Wednesday’s hosts have won four of their last six matches on home soil and have now scored six goals in their last two matches at the Red Bull Arena.

As for the visitors, while New England might be enjoying their brightest spell of the season, the Revolution still find themselves in a battle at the foot of the table. In their 16 Eastern Conference appearances this year, they have recorded four wins, four draws and eight defeats, scoring 17 and conceding 33 in return. Now sat down in 11th, New England also hold the joint worst defensive record of any side in the East. As for their recent run of results, while Wednesday’s visitors are unbeaten in their last four outings, they have drastically struggled on the road. New England have managed to win just one of their last 12 matches on their travels, including conceding 16 goals in their last five away matches.
