With the Premier League table reaching the business end of the season, English football’s top division remains incredibly tight at both ends of the table with just a single point seeing a team jump several places. On that note, Champions League hopefuls Tottenham will travel to Brighton on Tuesday night.

For the hosts on Tuesday night, despite starting the New Year brightly and appearing to extend their Premier League stay to a second season, Brighton have begun to find some struggles at the business end of the season. After 33 games this season, Brighton have won eight, drawn 11 and lost 14, scoring 31 and conceding 46. With a points tally of 35, the Premier League debutants sit 13th in the table and are seven points above the relegation zone with five games remaining. As for their recent form, coming off the back of a 3-2 loss away at Crystal Palace the Seagulls are now on a five-match winless run, losing four and drawing one. Despite receiving plaudits for their defensive strengths earlier in the year, Brighton have now failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 11 outings.

As for the visitors, Tottenham will be looking to mount a late push up the Premier League table as they look to shore up their Champions League dreams. After 33 games this season, Tottenham have won 20, drawn seven and lost six, scoring 65 and conceding 30 in return, Spurs now boasts the third best attacking and defensive stats in the division. With a points tally of 67, Tottenham now sit fourth in the table and with a seven-point buffer over Chelsea, Spurs look favorites to secure a top-four finish. As for their recent form, while they are coming off the back of a 3-1 defeat against new Premier League champions Manchester City, Tottenham have not lost any other outing in 2018. Tottenham will be hoping that Talisman Harry Kane can find his touch once again, the England international now has one goal in his last six appearances.
