Middlesbrough 3/4 to win against Birmingham City this afternoon

Posted August 9th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Championship
Market: Middlesbrough to win against Birmingham
Odds: 3/4 @ William Hill

Middlesbrough are dark horses to achieve the playoffs after finishing just a couple of victories from a top-six place last season, and this campaign they are holding out hope of pushing from promotion through any means possible.

Manager Aitor Karanka led the side to a 12th place finish in the league, which was nine places above Birmingham and 20 points better off. They also took four points off the Blues in their two league meetings last season.

The North-East side boast a strong side, with new-boy James Husband, Dean Whitehead, Grant Leadbitter, Albert Adomah and Lee Tomlin likely to play in this afternoon’s game. Birmingham survived in the Championship on goal difference at Doncaster Rovers’ expense, and will struggle to get a result today.

City are being tipped to be fodder in the second tier once more, and as a result William Hill are giving odds of 3/4 for Middlesbrough to get all three points against the Midlands outfit this afternoon.
