Michel 1/1 to be next manager of the Spanish national team
Competition: International football
Market: Michel to be next Spain manager
Odds: 1/1 @ 888 Sport
With Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque likely to be exiting his post this summer, speculation is on about who will be his successor. The likes of Napoli manager Rafael Benitez, Bayern Munich’s Pep Guardiola, and former Dnipro head coach Juande Ramos have been named as potential replacements, but 888 Sport are giving odds of 1/1 for Michel to be next Spain manager.
The 51-year-old, currently in charge of Olympiakos, played for Real Madrid for 14 years, making more than 400 appearances and scoring nearly 100 goals from midfield. Michel represented his country (Spain) on 66 occasions, scoring 21 goals. He won multiple league titles and many domestic cups with Real during his time in Spain.
As a manager, he’s won two league crowns with Greek league side Olympiacos, while having spent time in charge of the likes of Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid B, Getafe and Sevilla.
Michel has vast amounts of experience with the Spanish way of life and style of football considering he’s spent the majority of his career in his native country, but there’s been no movement on his future just yet.
