Manchester City seeking FA Cup redemption against Wigan for a place in the semis

Posted March 6th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: FA Cup
Market: Man City to beat Wigan
Odds: 2/13 @ William Hill

Manchester City are hoping to avenge their cup demons when they come against Championship playoff hopefuls Wigan Athletic this weekend, 10 months after their infamous 1-0 FA Cup final win against the Citizens back in May.

City are unsurprisingly resounding favourites with William Hill at 2/13, with Manuel Pellegrini’s men also gunning for a domestic treble.

Man City have endured just two defeats at the Etihad all season, which means Wigan face a difficult task in defending their FA Cup crown – especially considering the Sky Blues have already put five past Wigan when the two sides met in the Capital One Cup in September.

They’ve averaged three goals a game in the FA Cup this season, and they face a Wigan defence that has shipped six goals in the competition already.

However, their league form would suggest the Lactics have a chance at keep free-scoring Man City at bay, with Uwe Rosler’s men having conceded just 0.93 goals per game in the Championship – while winning their last four on the bounce.

Can Man City get their revenge against Wigan?
