Manchester City 8/11 to fall short in the Champions League group stage this season

Posted November 3rd, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Champions League
Market: Man City to be eliminated in the group stages
Odds: 8/11 @ Coral

Manchester City are enduring a disappointing season by their standards, and once again their European campaign has been below-par. The Sky Blues have picked up just two points from their three Champions League group games, and with their run of games to come in the group, Coral are giving odds of 8/11 for City to be eliminated in the group stages.

With Bayern Munich, AS Roma and CSKA Moscow having already taken five points off City collectively, many aren’t holding out much hoe that the Premier League holders can turn their fortunes around in Europe. A win at home in this week’s clash against CSKA Moscow could see Manuel Pellegrini’s side into the top-two depending on other results.

However, the Citizens still have to face Bayern Munich and AS Roma to seal their qualification in the weeks to come, but their past record would suggest they will fall short. Manchester City are winless in the Champions League, and could find their future sealed if they fail to win their next game.
