Manchester City 6/5 to finish outside of the top-four of the Premier League table
Competition: Premier League
Market: Man City not to finish top-four
Odds: 6/5 @ William Hill
Manchester City suffered a 4-0 defeat away to Everton in the Premier League on the weekend, their second defeat from their last three games. It left them two points adrift of the top-four after 21 games and could well be an indication that their hopes of a Champions League finish might not be an attainable target this season.
The Sky Blues are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 42 points, having already suffered five defeats – more than any other team in the top-six. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has all but admitted the title is beyond his club this season now leaders Chelsea are 10 points clear, and four losses from their last eight isn’t even form good enough to be in the top-four.
City’s biggest problem has been their recent results against elite clubs, as they’ve lost three of their last five versus sides in the top-half of the Premier League. And if Manchester City can’t be the teams around them in the table, their hopes of a top-four finish will be slim. As a result, William Hill are giving odds of 6/5 for City to finish outside of the Champions League spots.
