Manchester City 3/4 to win away to an injury-hit Stoke City side
Competition: Premier League
Market: Man City to win against Stoke City
Odds: 3/4 @ William Hill
Manchester City’s form has spiralled, and it’s seen them lose ground on Premier League leaders Chelsea. The Sky Blues have crumbled in the New Year since they lost midfielder Yaya Toure to the African Cup of Nations, picking up three draws and one defeat in their last four league games.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini is desperate for a result to fight Chelsea all the way in the title race, and travelling to face Stoke City has often been a tricky tie. The Potters haven’t lost to the holders at the Britannia Stadium since their most recent promotion, but they are injury-hit in key areas which could be a factor.
Manchester City have no choice but to through caution to the wind and make a real statement of intent. Stoke have their centre-back paring disrupted through injury, but they are in decent form of late, picking up seven points from their last three.
Nevertheless, the Sky Blues’ desperation to get a win, coupled with the loss of influential Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross, could see Manchester City finally win at the Britannia Stadium, and William Hill are giving odds of 3/4 for Pellegrini’s men to achieve it.
