Man City’s afternoon opponents Fulham 2/7 to get relegated from the Premier League

Posted March 22nd, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Fulham to get relegated
Odds: 2/7 @ William Hill

Manchester City face bottom-of-the-table Fulham this afternoon, and could put big pressure on the Cottagers with a win. Managed by the infamous Felix Magath, Fulham are currently four points adrift of safety after having played a game more than their rivals. Should they lose to title-challengers Manchester City today, they could find themselves seven points away with just seven games remaining.

As a result, William Hill are giving odds of 2/7 for the Londoners to go down this season, and when looking at their remaining fixtures, it doesn’t give the side much hope of survival.

Aside from City today, Fulham still have to face Everton, Aston Villa and Tottenham. Their defence has been the biggest problem of the league campaign. Magath’s men have conceded 65 goals this season from 30 games. Such a horrific defensive record that makes it an impossible task to keep free-scoring Man City quiet, let alone trying to get a result.

Despite the mammoth task ahead, losing today could well be fatal to their survival hopes, and if the teams around them pick up points to open the gap, Fulham could well be down and out.
