Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has recently rallied the troops ahead of their Capital One Cup final against Sunderland. The last time the Citizens went to Wembley, they lost 1-0 at the hands of Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup final. As a result, Manuel Pellegrini’s men are all the more determined to avenge their previous failings.

Bet 365 are backing the finalists at 1/7 to see past Sunderland in the Capital One Cup final, and considering the Black Cats were hammered 4-1 in their last game against Arsenal in the Premier League, Man City are even bigger favourites. Sunderland manager Gus Poyet even admitted ‘no-one has put themselves on the teamsheet for next week’ following the Arsenal defeat.

However, Sunderland boast an impressive recent record against the Sky Blues, winning three times to a 1-0 scoreline out of their last five meetings – drawing once. However, they have never beaten City away from home in the Premier League.

City will have a big boost in Sergio Aguero returning for the final, but it’s unknown whether he will start.
