Is Luis Suarez a shoo-in for PFA Player of the Year?
Competition: Premier League
Market: Luis Suarez to be named PFA Player of the Year
Odds: 3/10 @ Betfair
In his 100th Premier League appearance for Liverpool, striker Luis Suarez scored his 62nd Liverpool goal against Southampton. It was his 24th league goal in just 23 games this season, and as a result Betfair are giving odds of 3/10 for the Uruguayan forward to be the PFA Player of the Year this season.
He missed out last campaign to former Tottenham winger Gareth Bale, who earned himself a big-money move to Real Madrid in the summer. But despite having played five less games than his rivals this season, Suarez has blown them all out of the water with his scoring tally.
Liverpool are currently second in the table and have aspirations to win their first Premier League title since the league’s inception.
With 24 goals and 10 assists in 23 league games, surely Luis Suarez is a shoo-in to win the coveted PFA Player of the Year award? The 27-year old is enjoying a phenomenal season with the Reds and has finally made the step into the world-class bracket – with some saying he’s the best striker in the planet.
