With the MLS season just getting underway, each team in the Western and Eastern Conference are desperate to get off to a good start. On that note, on Monday morning Los Angeles FC will welcome New York City to the Banc of California Stadium.

For the hosts on Monday night, for the MLS’s latest franchise, Los Angeles have enjoyed an incredibly successful start to life in USA’s top tier. After nine games in the Western Conference this season, Los Angeles have won six, drawn one and lost two, scoring 20 and conceding 14 in return, Los Angeles now hold the second best-attacking stats in the Western Conference. With a points tally of 19, The Whites currently sit second in the table and are four points adrift of Sporting Kansas City, but, Los Angeles do still hold two games in hand. As for their form, the MLS debutants are now unbeaten in their last five, winning four and drawing one. The Whites have also scored 11 in those five outings.

As for the visitors, after a second place finish last season, many had New York City tipped as potential champions this year. After 10 games at the start of this campaign, The Sky Blues have won six, drawn two and lost two, scoring 19 and conceding 14 in return. With a points tally of 20, NYC currently sit third in the Eastern Conference and just two points adrift of early leaders Atlanta United. However, after suffering a 4-0 defeat away to rivals New York Red Bulls in their last appearances, the guests have now won just two of their last five, drawing one and losing two. More worrying for the guests will be the fact that they have now failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four and have shipped 10 in those four.
