With their position in the playoffs already confirmed, Los Angeles will look to end their season on a high when they welcome Houston to the Banc of California Stadium in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Starting with the hosts, after enjoying a successful season as an MLS franchise, Los Angeles confirmed their playoff position in the Western Conference. After 31 games, the Whites have won 15, drawn eight and lost eight, scoring 61 and conceding 46 in return, they now hold the second best-attacking record in either Conference. With two games remaining, LAFC are now four points adrift of FC Dallas at the top of the table. As for their recent form, they have now lost just one of their last eight MLS matches. More impressive, Los Angeles have also now lost just one of their last 20 matches at the Banc of California Stadium.
As for the visitors, while Houston did enjoy a bright start to the end of their MLS campaign, the Dynamo’s once again missed out on a top six finish. In their 31 league matchups, they have won nine, drawn eight and lost 14, scoring 51 and conceding 49 in return, no team outside of the playoff positions holds a better-attacking record. As for their recent form, coming off the back of a 4-1 loss away to Seattle which ended their four-match unbeaten run, they have also now managed to record just one clean sheet away from home.
